Information regarding International Young Physicists Tournament (IYPT) 2024 - 2025

Information from Sam Edgecombe regarding IYPT 2024 - 2025
The new problems for the IYPT 2024 have been published. You can find them here https://www.iypt.se/sv/arets-problem/ . We suggest choosing either 3. Lato Lato, 7. Ruler Cannon, 12. Sound Verus Fire, 13. Spaghetti Accelerator, 14. Water Bottle Rocket or 15. Wailing Bowl. These are easiest to get started with and solve (according to us). Once you have chosen your problem, please sign up for the IYPT 2025 as a student. The link to the sign-up is
You do not have to compete but we like to know how many students are working on IYPT problems in Sweden. One reason to sign-up is to get access to our Google Drive where we will upload relevant literature on your problem. You will also receive information on how to compete. You can make the decision to compete in December.

If you need help as a teacher, please email me ( sam.edgecombe@iyptsweden.org ) and I will try to help. If you are a student email info@iyptsweden.org and someone will answer your query. If you are a teacher and would like me to hold a presentation (physical if you live in or around Lund/Malmö otherwise online) then please let me know.

We also have the discord server https://discord.gg/PpJxQSEmGz where you can discuss with others about your IYPT problem.

Reference kits
There are two unofficial reference kits that you could use.
GYPT's reference kit https://gypt.org/aufgaben.html (in German)
The later is under construction, so if there's not too much there now, try again in a week's time.
IYPT Camp

We are hosting two free Camps, one is Stockholm on the 12th-13th of October and one in Lund on the 5th-6th of October. The camps are free, as long as you can provide your own transport and meals. The idea with the camp is to give you the opportunity to get started on your IYPT problem and to get some expert advice.
More information and the sign-up for Stockholm Camp can be found here
and for the Lund Camp
Thanks to Stefan Åminneborg for organising the camp in Stockholm and to Lukasz Michalak & Martin Magnusson for the use of rooms at the physics department in Lund.
